MultiLing Germany was an official Sponsor of DIESELMEDAILLE 2011, Germany’s longest running inventor award. DIESELMEDAILLE was co-founded by Eugen Diesel, son of the engine designer Rudolf Diesel, in 1952. Since that time, DIESEL gold medals have been awarded to approximately 400 inventors, including several Nobel Prize winners such as Herrmann Staudinger, Jan Enders, Ernst Ruska and Manfred Eigen. Among the first to receive the prize was scientist Wernher von Braun. The list of awarded persons also includes the founders of the world-wide software company SAP, Dietmar Hopp, Hasso Plattner and Klaus E. Tschira, as well as German entrepreneurs like Anthon Kathrein (antenna technology) and Walter Sennheiser (audio acoustics).
The ceremony was held on November 30 at the renowned Deutsche Museum in Munich, the world’s largest technology and science museum. The judges awarded four DIESEL medals in the following categories: best innovation, most sustainable innovation, best innovation funding and best media communication. The winners were announced during a ceremony attended by 200 selected guests. DIESELMEDAILLE 2011 winners are: Putzmeister Holding, Tecnaro GmbH, MDR – Public Broadcasting Station and the funding program ZIM of the German Federal Government that supports innovation projects for small and medium-sized enterprises (SME).
Michael Sneddon, CEO of MultiLing, who participated in the event, announced that he was proud to be a sponsor of this outstanding event. “MultiLing is highly involved in the worldwide innovation process.
